One of the things I want to do with this blog is write about my innermost thoughts, hopes, fears, and dreams. I want to sound like a real, authentic person as opposed to someone who already knows all the answers; I don’t. I’m still figuring a lot of this stuff out as I go, stumbling along imperfectly, trying my best each day. Even if that means barely making it through, you can bet I’m still trying.
The things I have to offer are 1) a whole lot of empathy and compassion, 2) humor, and 3) the experiences I’ve gathered over the few years I’ve been in the working world. As of writing this post, that’s 3.5 years plus a few internships. Not much, I know, but all things considered it’s still a relatively well-rounded set of experiences that I can draw from. The thing is, when I sit down to write an advice-themed post, I’m not going to be 100% certain that I know what I’m talking about. That’s where you come in.
It’s your job to hear the advice I’m giving you and to decide if it’s right for you. If it doesn’t apply, then you have full permission from me to dismiss it. No shame, no gimmicks, no hurt feelings. Listen to your gut. We’ll be practicing that a lot here. If you disagree or think there’s a better way, I want to hear from you. You can leave a reply in the comments or send me a message through the private contact form. (Be kind, if you don’t mind. I’m a sensitive soul). My being able to learn from you and your experience is just another amazing benefit of writing this blog.
